Is Apophenia broken up? NO!!
Is Apophenia on a hiatus?: In a way, yes
hi·a·tus
// (h-ts)n. pl. hi·a·tus·es or hiatus
1. A gap or interruption in space, time, or continuity; a break
2. A slight pause that occurs
Although we havent broken the space time continuum, we have certainly been on pause with our lead singer moving to California after the recording of our new record. But cheer up, because hes moving back home after much thought and consideration.
How many album titles have you gone through for the new project? This would be the third. The first being Phasing Out The Juggernaut, the second was self-titled. We settled on a narrative ep called The Rise Of Resister to capture the unique inspiring writing pouring from Seamuss mind.. It was fitting in many ways and honest to us.
When will Apophenias next show be? We are looking for bands/booking/venues on these matters, and are currently setting up a slew of dates for 2010. If you have live events youd like to see Apophenia perform in email apopheniamusic_yahoo.com
How many songs are on the new cd? You can expect 6 songs fully produced by George Fullan and us. There are also a bunch of acoustic songs recorded in California by Seamus and a few pre-production out-takes from the recording of TROR we are considering putting on the cd, although at this time we might release some for download on our reverbnation (well post a blog when we do that of course!)
When can I expect more from this band that I am a fan of?: JANUARY 2010! We are in ways going to be reunited as a different band.. A lot of individual material and experience will come back to one rehearsal room come late December. The next recordings are anyones guess as far as sound goes.. We are certainly excited to start booking, promoting our first produced ep, and climb our way through the long Island indie rock scene to a place somewhere we can call our own. To friends and family we thank you for supporting us from that first house party show in Elmont, the release show at The Knitting Factory, buying shirts and cds Most importantly enjoying the art we aspire to create, and taking part in our story, through strife and fortune. RUSTY WALLS
Running all aspects of a band and being in that very band can be a very daunting task for many. Members of Apophenia have had a continuous hand in all of the bands merchandising, booking, web design, and marketing. Apophenia is a D.I.Y. band that in the past five years have played countless shows in top local venues like The Kitting Factory, The Crazy Donkey, the Vintage Lounge and have done university fundraisers for Fordham University, Hofstra University, and City College of New York.
Entering the studio has been painstakingly the biggest learning experience for this band. In and out of many studios looking for the right fit, it was never the simplest task till March of 2009. They had the opportunity that would change the weight of the personal investment in this band more than ever. The first professionally produced record by the well known and talented producer at General Studios, George Fullan was under way (Bayside, Kill Your Idols, Taking Back Sunday, Action Action.) (Record labels like Triple Crown Records, Underestimated Records, Victory Records)
At the end of this summer, vocalist Seamus Kerley made the big move from New York to L.A, chasing his dream of a career in film and VGM soundtrack development. Within the short time he has been there, his personal knowledge of music has expanded greatly, and Apophenia has gotten exposure to a whole new audience.
Drummer, Charles Trey Norris has been playing since the age of 3, and is currently touring extensively, putting his skills to work playing with many big-name artists like Peter Cincotti and Ashanti to fund this record.
While Trey and Seamus have been fighting the good fight to spread quality D.I.Y. music around the country, bassist Charles Jourdan and guitarist Nadeem Deemy Ahmed have been at work on the front lines of New York. While wrapping up the record we have been meticulously crafting for nearly a year, Nadeem also works at JetBlue airlines, strategically enabling the band to affordably travel the country in pursuit of open minds and ears willing to experience their music.
Charles Jourdan, deeply dedicated to expanding the horizons of his musical vista and endlessly fine-tuning his versatility, is enrolled in a rigorous Music Theory program at C.W. Post University, studying Jazz and Classical music for Bass guitar.
This band is a microcosm of the New York Universe complete with stories of broken beauty, dreams, insanity, boot-strap determination, creativity, constant evolution and moments of pure apophenia. This is our path, this is our lives. Art is the medium through which we tell our story, and nothing will get in our way. We are dedicated to putting on the best, most life-changing shows we can, every night, without a stone left unturned, without a listener left feeling anything less than inspired to do something..anything meaningful and out of the ordinary.

Apophenia, the fine line between insanity and genius. An attribute to the madness and profound intellect that exists in the creative mind. We are proud to say we are self releasing our latest project and standing on our own feet for over five years via self ran production company E9 Productions. Recently endorsed by Paiste cymbols (Kings of Leon, Deathcab For Cuties, Tool, U2, Pink Floyd) and created our new album The Rise Of Resistor with producer George Fullan (Bayside, Kill Your Idols, Action Action.)
